News & Updates:
see allCalifornia Bound!
August 17, 2010
Hi Everyone,
This coming weekend we’ve got three California shows that we’re really excited about. On Friday, August 20th we’ll be playing at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA. We’ve heard nothing but great things about this venue and are so excited to play there. Bay area favorite Jesse Denatale will open up the show. We can’t wait!
We’ll then travel south to Santa Barabara, CA to play at the Lobero Theater. This is part of the Sings Like Hell series and it’s our first time performing in Santa Barbara.
We’ll round out the weekend at McCabe’s In Santa Monica. We had a great show there last November and can’t wait to go back!
See you at the shows!
The Summer Tour Continues!
July 12, 2010
Some Strange Country -The Official Tour continues starting on Sunday, July 11th!
After an amazing trip to Alaska and a fantastic CD release tour back in May, we’ve had a few weeks off to recharge for phase two of our summer tour schedule! We’ll be performing at a whole slew of great festivals and venues throughout the Northeast and the Northwest in the next few weeks!
We are so excited to be back at the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in Oak Hill, NY and also to be appearing for the first time at the Ossipee Valley Bluegrass Festival in the fine state of Maine! We’ll also be making a special trip to the Pacific Northwest for a few days to perform at the prestigious Vancouver Folk Festival and at the Northwest String Summit near Portland, OR. We’ll kick this whole run off on Cape Cod this Sunday at the Payomet Center for The Arts in Truro, MA.
On Tuesday, July 13th we’ll be playing a very special “secret” club show at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, MA. Tickets will go on sale on Monday July 12th starting at 8 am. There will be 60 tickets sold in advance and then another 40 sold at the door on a first come first serve basis! Our good friend Margaret Glaspy will open the show.
In other very exciting news, our singer, Aoife O’Donovan has a song in the upcoming film “Get Low” starring Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, Bill Murray and Lucas Black. The song is called “Lay My Burden Down” and was composed by Aoife and sung in the movie by the great Alison Krauss. The movie opens in NY and LA on July 30th. You can watch the trailer and hear part of the song here:
Also, if you’d like to hear other songs written and performed by Aoife, she has a brand new, limited edition vinyl 7 inch out. You can check it out here:
Hope to see you at the shows!
